“A Cowboy, Indians and Tutus”: RMBT takes Montana to China
When “A Cowboy, Indians and Tutus: Taking Montana to China,” a documentary film about Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre’s trip to China, premieres Nov. 9 in Missoula, the audience will get a firsthand look at the 44-member entourage's journey to China May 15-June 1. “It was not just about ballet,” says RMBT founder Charlene Campbell. A group of Native American dancers and bona fide cowboy Wade Black were also on board, and an integral part of each performance. Read more
Jeff Ament’s debut CD rooted in Montana
Montana native Jeff Ament – best known as the bassist for Pearl Jam – released a debut solo project, Tone, in September. The new recording features 10 original tracks by Ament, culled from 50-plus “works in progress.” Penned over the last eight years, the final collection offers a look into Ament's early life in Montana and how it has shaped his music.
