Surface Design Association offers first Montana exhibit

Whooping Crones Gallery in Missoula hosts the inaugural Surface Design Association Show in November and December. The opening and artists’ reception coincides with First Friday festivities, 5-8 p.m. Nov. 7. Sanctioned vandalism at Art Splat! 

Art renegades are invited to paint their own art or just toss paint balloons on the gallery walls at the Yellowstone Art Museum during Art Splat! Go crazy and paint the canvas-draped gallery at YAM from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8. YAM will supply paint, super soakers, paint balloons, water pistols, paintbrushes and rollers – hands, fingers and other tools are welcome. Read more

National Folk Festival taking applications from artisans

Organizers are accepting applications for vendors to sell their work at the Montana Arts Marketplace during the 71st National Folk Festival, July 10-12 in Butte. Openings are available for 25 Montana-based artists/craftspeople and 20 Native American artists who will be selected through a juried process and have the opportunity to sell their products to thousands of attendees at the event.
