
Russell Museum offers free admission to military families
The C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls is participating in the Blue Star Museums program, a partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, and more than 600 museums across America to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day, 2010. “Sweat and Steel” captures railroading spirit at Livingston Depot Center
“Sweat and Steel,” a new exhibition by Livingston artist C. David Swanson, opens May 29 at the Livingston Depot Center, and continues through Sept. 6. The series of 18 figurative paintings forcefully depict railroad workers on Montana’s MRL and BNSF lines. Read more

Yellowstone Art Museum gears up for art auction
Art Auction 42, the Yellowstone Art Museum’s annual auction exhibit, culminates in the “Hollywood Extravaganza,” 5:30-11 p.m. March 6. “Land of Many Stories” celebrates Glacier Park’s legacy
The Montana Historical Society Museum’s new “Land of Many Stories: The People and History of Glacier National Park” is designed so that visitors actually have the experience of finding their way through it, as though they were on a hike. The park celebrates its centennial in 2010, and the exhibit honors the role it has played in the history of the state with photos from the society collection, artwork and artifacts. Read more
