Chokecherry reigns supreme in Lewistown

The puckery little berry that grows wild in Montana reigns supreme in downtown Lewistown on Saturday, Sept. 6, during the 19th annual Montana Chokecherry Festival, sponsored by the Lewistown Area Chamber of Commerce ... The chokecherry is a deciduous shrub, native to North America, that grows along water and on hillsides. The plants typically bloom in July and the fruit begins to ripen in August. The reddish fruits are used to make jellies, jams, wine and other culinary delights. Read more

Tickets, campsites still available at Rockin’ the Rivers

A month before the first act takes the stage, the festival had sold out its 1,200 general campsites and organizers had created an overflow camping area with an additional 300 sites. “We knew that the tenth year at the Bridge would draw a big crowd,” said Rockin’ the Rivers president Mark Vandolah, “but we weren’t expecting to sell out of campsites this far before the show.” Read more

Montana State Fair comes to Expo Park

Emmy-winning series profiles musicians

The fourth season of "11th and Grant" will be produced July 21-25 at KUSM-TV studio, located at 11th and Grant in Bozeman, with five shows filmed in just five days. “This allows for one set-up for light stage, sound stage and set for the week,” says artist director and program host Eric Funk – a well-known Bozeman pianist and composer. During its fourth season, the program will feature interviews with The SaddleTramps (country rock), Kane's River (bluegrass), The Blokes (folk), David Morgenroth (jazz piano), and Azusa and Shuichi Komiyama (classical music on piano, flute and alto saxophone).
