
World Cup Equestrian Triathlon returns to Rebecca Farm July 22-25
The world’s best horses and riders will compete in The Event at Rebecca Farm July 22-25, with free admission for spectators to the largest equestrian triathlon in the U.S. and one of only 12 stops on the World Cup tour. Whitefish Mountain Resort expands zip-line tours
Whitefish Mountain Resort will open its Zip Line Tours and the Alpine Slide on June 18, with mountain biking, scenic lift rides, and Walk in the Treetops Tours set to open June 26. The resort's popular Zip Line Tour was new last summer. The expanded version includes two new zip lines, bringing the total to six and making an average tour about three hours long. Celebrate National Trails Day by clearing trail in the Great Bear Wilderness
The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation celebrates the 18th annual National Trails Day on June 5 in a season kick-off event by helping to open and improve the Skiumah Creek Trail in the Great Bear Wilderness. Volunteers are still needed to help on this trail project. Read more

Glacier Institute offers “Cycling for Slides”
The Glacier Institute offers a course titled "Cycling for Slides" on Sunday, May 23. Participants will travel from Avalanche Creek to Logan Creek or perhaps the Loop via bicycles, stopping often to observe and discuss the dynamics of avalanche slide paths and their ecological role in the landscape. Try out kayaks and canoes from area paddling shops for free during the annual Northern Rockies Paddlefest and Kayak Demo Days, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 22-23 at Wayfarer’s State Park near Bigfork. Participants should wear quick-dry clothing and water-friendly footwear for comfort. Read more
Glacier and Yellowstone waive entrance fees during National Park Week
Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced all 392 national parks will have free admission during National Park Week, April 17-25. "There are great recreational opportunities in Glacier this spring,” says park superintendent Chas Cartwright. Likewise, Yellowstone is bursting with bike-riding opportunities. Read more
