Nordic season kicks off with Yellowstone Ski Festival
Cross-country skiers from across North America and around the world gather Nov. 24-28 at the Rendezvous Ski Trails in West Yellowstone for the annual Yellowstone Ski Festival. Highlights include a series of Nordic skiing clinics, SuperTour races, Biathlon races, the Try It and Buy It Gear Demo (the largest public gear demo of its type), an Indoor Ski Show and clinics. Fall Mack Days brings anglers to Flathead Lake
Undeterred by chilly weather, fishermen continue to ply the sometimes-unpredictable waters of Flathead Lake through Nov. 15 during Fall Mack Days. The annual fall fishing derby is replete with over $24,500 in cash prizes and up to $30,000 in bonuses for those catching 20 or more of the wily Mackinaw lake trout (1,000 trout are also tagged with values from $100-$5,000). On your mark for the Montana Governor’s Cup Marathon
The Montana Governor’s Cup Marathon, a USTAF certified course, begins Sept. 20 in the rural community of Molt and finishes in downtown Billings. The race includes a marathon, half-marathon, and marathon relay for both runners and walkers, as well as a 10k race and kids’ run. Read more
