Brewery Follies launch another riotous season in Virginia City

The Brewery Follies of Virginia City opens its season May 25 at the historic H. S. Gilbert Brewery. Expect another riotous summer season of belly laughs, celebrity impersonations, sketch comedy, and plenty of music.

Sunset Magazine called the Follies “… a cabaret show wild enough for any old-time miner,” and according to Christine Meyers of the Billings Gazette, “if there’s a funnier or more polished show around, I haven’t seen it.”

The Follies, under the direction of Mike and Jill Verdon claims a simple mission: “To make you laugh as we make fun of just about every aspect you can think of in today’s political and social landscape.” However, they also suggest parents “find a sitter for the kids, because with laughter and beer on tap some of the Follies’ antics can be pretty irreverent.” Its creators rate the show well beyond PG-13.

Whitefish Theatre Company presents “33 Variations”

Whitefish Theatre Company presents a new play Moisés Kaufman April 13-22, inspired by Beethoven's final work (Opus 120 or the “33 Diabelli Variations”). The drama explores overlapping story lines in two different eras as a mother (and Beethoven scholar) comes to terms with her daughter, while the composer Beethoven comes to terms with his genius. “Doubt” – “a mystery without a solution” – tours Montana and beyond

Montana Repertory Theatre's national tour of John Patrick Shanley’s “Doubt, A Parable,” continues Jan. 31-Feb. 4 at the University of Montana's Montana Theatre in the PAR/TV Center. The play, which won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for drama, will also be performed in Lewistown, Feb. 8; Bozeman, Feb. 9; Butte, Feb. 10; and Billings, Feb. 11, before traveling around the country.
