Two Montana theaters offer Met broadcasts
The Met’s groundbreaking series of live, high-definition performance transmissions to movie theaters around the world expands in its third season. The HD productions will be seen in almost 800 venues, including Gallatin Mall Cinema 11, at 2825 W. Main Street in Bozeman, and Cinemark Great Northern 8, at 750 Great Northern Blvd. in Helena. The Fort Peck Summer Theatre closes out the musical portion of its summer season with the rock opera “Jesus Christ Superstar” by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. The musical that launched Webber and Rice's careers along with a new era in musical theatre runs 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 4 p.m. Sundays at the Fort Peck Summer Theatre near Glasgow. Big Sky Rep season opens at Mother Lode
“I’m thrilled that the people of Butte and the Mother Lode have embraced us and invited us to perform in such a historically important theatre in uptown,” said Big Sky Rep Artistic Director Andrée O’Shea.... Andree O’Shea returns as Louise, and Patsy will be played by New York actress Christine Mild, in "Always, Patsy Cline," a song-filled performance that and pays tribute to the singer who died in a 1963 plane crash at age 30. The Brewery Follies, under the direction of Mike and Jill Verdon, launch two new fun-filled cabaret shows – brimming with skits, goofiness and improv – in the 19th century atmosphere of Montana’s first brewery.... “The Little Red Truck” winning over all ages
With a title suggesting a cute little vehicle and a cast that includes hundreds of kids (in cool costumes, no less), it’s no surprise that the award-winning documentary film “The Little Red Truck” is winning the hearts and minds of youngsters nationwide.... It’s magic and mayhem captured through the lens as the kids, under the direction of the two professional tour actor/directors who come with the truck, audition, rehearse, mess up, have the occasional meltdown, overcome personal obstacles, jump for joy, don costumes, and eventually grace the stage for a one-hour performance.
