The multi-platinum group Celtic Woman offers two Montana concerts this summer, performing Aug. 22 at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman (a show originally slated for MetraPark in Billings, which was destroyed by a tornado in June) and Aug. 23 at the Adams Center in Missoula.

Touring in support of their fifth chart-topping CD/DVD, Songs from the Heart, Celtic Woman continues to delight live audiences with what critics call an “uplifting” and “beyond captivating” concert experience.

Since its inception in 2005, Celtic Woman has been a versatile assemblage comprised of charismatic and gifted Irish women. The extended Songs from the Heart tour will feature vocalists Chloë Agnew, Lynn Hilary, Lisa Kelly, and fiddler Máiréad Nesbitt. Together, their diverse musical abilities and vivid personalities create a blend of timeless tradition and contemporary craft.

The group’s repertoire ranges from spirited Celtic fiddle and bodhrán pieces to lush arrangements of Irish classics, contemporary covers and original compositions.

Celtic Woman appeared on several national television shows, including “Dancing With The Stars,” “Today Show” and “Good Morning America,” last summer while wrapping up a five-month U.S. tour. Celtic Woman returned home to Ireland last August and was awarded “Best Celtic Group” at the 2009 Ireland Music Awards.

The Grand Rapids Press praised the “heavenly, angelic voices that floated through every song,” while Pittsburgh’s Tribune Review declared, “it was hard, if not impossible, to avoid a standing ovation.”

In just five years, the group has played eight U.S. tours, released five CDs and five DVDS totaling more than $3 million in sales and performed for more than 800,000 people.

Meanwhile, the Celtic Woman PBS Specials have aired on nearly 700 PBS stations across the country.

Named the no. 1 Top World Music Artist by Billboard, Celtic Woman albums have held the no. 1 position on the magazine’s World Music chart for 90 consecutive weeks.
