Athletes 50 and older compete in Montana Senior Olympics

Registration is open for the Montana Senior Olympics, June 9-11 in Great Falls.
The games are open to individuals 50 years of age and over, and include archery, basketball, bowling, cycling, field and track, golf, horseshoes, race-walking, racquetball, road racing, swimming, tennis and table tennis.
Montana Senior Olympics kicks off at Alive @ Five, 5-9 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Gibson Park. The 49th Street Blues Project provides music for the outdoor event, with a designated tent available for athletes and their guests. Festivities coincide with the 5K road race.
The banquet, held Friday, June 10, at the Holiday Inn, includes music, food, activities, prizes and presentation of the Athlete of the Year award.
Registration booklets are available at several locations, including at the Park and Recreation Office, 1700 River Drive No.; and the Community Recreation Center, 801 2nd Ave. No; or by calling Kay Newman at 406-586-5543. Registration is $10 on or before May 23, and $20 May 24-27.
The Senior Olympics continue with a softball tournament, July 15-17 in Kalispell.
