Country and rock stars headline Montana State Fair

Fair fanatics rejoice! Fair days are back with a week packed full of family fun, July 30-Aug. 7 Montana ExpoPark in Great Falls.
In addition to the rides, exhibits and midway action, five exciting nights of PRCA Rodeo action are scheduled for Aug. 3-7, with a rodeo dance featuring Keith Anderson on Aug. 6.
Darius Rucker kicks off a stellar night-show line-up at 8 p.m. July 31; Rucker burst on to the country music scene in the fall of 2008 with a no. 1 debut album on the Billboard charts; however, he’s no newcomer to the music scene. Rucker was the voice of Hootie and The Blowfish, the Grammy-winning group of the mid-90s ($35).
The U.S. Marine Band offers a free concert at 8 p.m. Aug. 1; Styx rocks the arena at 8 p.m. Aug. 2, with soaring power ballads and classic rock hits, including “Lady,” “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man” and “Mr. Roboto” ($30 for premium seats); and the L.A. band Lifehouse performs at 9 p.m. Aug. 4 ($15).
Luke Bryan brings a natural Georgia twang and true-as-dirt details to his songs, 9 p.m. Aug. 3. His hits include “All My Friends Say,” “We Rode in Trucks” and “Rain Is a Good Thing” ($15 for premium seats).
Two-time Grammy winner and three-time Academy of Country Music winner LeAnn Rimes joins the Great Falls Symphony at 9 p.m. Aug. 5. Rimes has sold more than 37 million albums and is the youngest recipient of a Grammy. Her hit song “How Do I Live” is the second longest charting song ever on the Billboard Hot 100 ($30 for premium seats).
Grammy-nominated songwriter Keith Anderson (named one of People Magazine’s “50 Hottest Bachelors”) performs at 9 p.m. Aug. 6 ($5-$22); and Clay Walker wraps up the concert series at 9 p.m. Aug. 7. Walker has 11 no. 1 hits, including “Hypnotize The Moon,” “The Chain of Love” and “This Woman and This Man” ($15 for premium seats.
