The Glacier Symphony and Chorale offers the third annual Festival Amadeus, Aug. 2-8 in Kalispell and Whitefish.

The six-concert festival features acclaimed guest artists, along with the Bridger String Quartet of Bozeman and Glacier String Quartet of Kalispell, performing some of the finest classical music of Mozart, J.S. Bach, Schumann, Beethoven, and many others.

The opening event, “Evening with the Artists,” features an interactive evening of music with guests Heidi Krutzen, Lorna McGhee, Joel Fan and choreographer Karin Stevens, hosted by Maestro John Zoltek, 8 p.m. Monday at the O’Shaughnessy Center ($25).

The following three chamber concerts, also at the O’Shaughnessy, are titled “Melodic Souvenirs,” Aug. 3; “Breathing Arches of Silver Sound,” Aug. 4; and “Extravaganza,” Aug. 5.

The 16-member Festival Amadeus Orchestra performs two concerts, Friday and Sunday at the Christian Center in Kalispell; the first focuses on works by Mozart, while the finale offers works by Schumann and Mendelssohn, as well as Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major with pianist Fan, who recently toured with Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble.
