Los Lonely Boys season this year's Magic City Blues Fest with "Texican rock ’n roll."

The 2300-2500 blocks of Montana Avenue pulse with musical energy during the eighth annual Magic City Blues Fest, Aug. 7-8.

Billed as Montana’s only urban music festival, the 21-and-over, blues-infused party features a dozen bands on two stages.

Veteran rock ’n rollers Little Feat headline Friday’s show. Since they formed in 1969, the band has continued to deliver their unconventional signature sound of earthy, organic appeal and polished, first-rate musicianship wrapped around eclectic and memorable songs. The slew of Feat favorites includes ”Dixie Chicken,“ ”Fat Man In the Bathtub,“ ”Time Loves A Hero,“ ”Sailin’ Shoes,“ ”Oh Atlanta,“ and ”Willin’.“

Shannon Curfman and the Tommy Castro Band also perform on the Main Stage, and the Dave Walker Band, Becky Sue and her Big Rockin’ Daddies and Lil’ Ed and the Blues Imperials take turns on the Stillwater Stage.

Los Lonely Boys are Saturday’s featured artist. The three brothers from San Angelo, Texas, play a Grammy-winning mix they call “Texican rock ’n roll,” which combines elements of rock, blues, soul, country and Tejano.

Lil’ Ed and the Blues Imperials and Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue also take turns on the Main Stage; and Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe, the Patrick Sweany Band and Ray Wylie Hubbard are among the Stillwater Stage acts.

Tickets are $40 or $75 for the two-night combo, and full concessions are available. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. daily; call 670-2329 or visit www.magiccityblues.com for details.

For a pre-party sampler, check out Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, playing July 31 on the Stillwater Stage ($5).
