"Security Breeches" by David Mills-Low is part of the Opera House Theatre's summer season.

The Opera House Theatre Company in Philipsburg is in full swing with three comedies, including an original, “Security Breeches,” by the company’s artistic director, Missoula playwright and actor David Mills-Low.

Show times are 7 p.m. Thursdays, 2 and 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 4 p.m. Sundays, through Sept. 4 at the handsome old theatre.

“It is an exciting season, with a wonderfully talented cast,” says the company’s producer, Claudette Dringle.

“Security Breeches” is set at the Mountainview Trailer Park in Bad Ash, Mont., where retired CIA operative Elmer Barnes has settled into his golden years with an eye towards keeping himself busy by developing an unusual method for passing secrets. But when his granddaughter accidentally blows the lid off his research, a cadre of misfit spies descends upon trailer park in this adult-themed romp through the backyard of espionage and across the front porch of cyber culture.

“Leaving Iowa” embraces the joys and woes of the classic family road trip. The play offers a hilarious and touching postcard to anyone who has endured that family vacation with annoying siblings and silly parental ideas of where to go and what to see.

The season also includes the Vaudeville Variety Show, with the first half set in the Rodeo Bar, where P-burgers once gathered to listen to music, tell jokes and poke some neighborly fun at each other. Traditional vaudeville hijinks and hilarity are on tap in act two, including an appearance by the Maxville Chickens, and a wide array of musical and comedic acts.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. For information and a schedule, call 406-859-0013 or visit www.operahousetheatre.com.
