Sanctioned vandalism at Art Splat!
Published: October 14, 2008
Art renegades are invited to paint their own art or just toss paint balloons on the gallery walls at the Yellowstone Art Museum during Art Splat! Go crazy and paint the canvas-draped gallery at YAM from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.
YAM will supply paint, super soakers, paint balloons, water pistols, paintbrushes and rollers – hands, fingers and other tools are welcome.
The interactive evening features hamburgers, hotdogs, beer, and soda at bargain prices. Lights-out laser splat, music, games, and prizes are featured throughout the evening.
Participants may compete in the “Most Creative Shower Cap or Head Covering Contest.” This first–come, first-splat event is $10 for 15-minute shifts with 40 other “splatters.” All ages are welcome.
“Splatters” hankering for first splash on the spotless canvas may purchase premier tickets. Dinner, drinks and an unmarked gallery are open to the first 50 buyers from 6-7 p.m. for $50 per ticket.
Warning: Prepare to be painted! All paints are water-based, but participants should wear old clothes. Goggles are available or bring your own. Take home a piece of original art at the end of the event – pay just $5 for a square foot of canvas.
