STP.jpgGrammy Award-winning, multi-platinum rock band Stone Temple Pilots bring its salacious mix of grunge guitars, classic rock moves and big pop hooks to MetraPark Arena, 8 p.m. July 12. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. June 10.

Stone Temple Pilots dominated the ’90s, racking up 16 singles on the Billboard Top Ten. Hits include “Vasoline,” “Plush,” “Creep,” and “Interstate Love Song” (which spent a record-setting 15 weeks atop the rock album charts). “Plush” garnered the band a 1993 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance.

Other songs like “Big Empty” (as heard on "The Crow" soundtrack) and “Sour Girl” have further cemented STP as a band distinctly separate from grunge counterparts.

A dominant force in rock music since their inception, the group's extensive collection of top-selling music has cemented their standing as one of the most successful rock groups of all time. Band members went their separate ways after the 2001 release of Shangri-La Dee Da, with its blend of thick riffs and candied melodies, typified by the hit "Days of the Week."

STP's 2008 reunion tour introduced a whole new generation to the explosion of funkadelic rock and classic rock magic that fuels the band's live performances.
