The Brewery Follies of Virginia City returns with another season of satire, nonsense, foolishness and absurdity. The comedy cabaret opens May 27 at the historic town’s H.S. Gilbert Brewery – a venue that looks much like it did when established in 1863 by German-born brewmeister H.S. Gilbert.

The Brewery Follies, under the direction of Mike and Jill Verdon, “has a serious mission to make you laugh harder than you’ve laughed in a long time.”

The intrepid troupe promises to entertain those in need of laughter in their lives by taking aim at the political correctness that seems to permeate every pore of American life. “It’s wild enough for any old-timer,” wrote Sunset Magazine.

"Laughter and beer are still on tap at the Brewery Follies," promise the Verdons. "We're not for the faint of heart and we're not political correct! The Follies push the boundaries of good taste and decency whenever possible."

Show times are 8 p.m. Wednesdays-Sundays, with matinees at 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, through June 12. The full season begins June 15, with shows at 4 and 8 p.m. daily through Aug. 21. The encore season continues Aug. 24-Sept. 25, with shows at 8 p.m. Wednesdays-Sundays, and matinees at 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Tickets are $18, and parental guidance is suggested, due to mature content. For reservations, call 800-829-2969, ext. 3. Visit www.breweryfollies.net for more information.
