Published: July 1, 2008
The Treasure State Invitational Art Show, held July 18-20 at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds, features nationally recognized artists showcasing all original paintings and sculptures.
The biennial event continues to offer an array of unique works while raising month to support the Bitter Root Valley Historical Society and the Ravalli County Museum.
The sale opens Friday afternoon with over 30 artist booths, open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.
A reception from 7-10 p.m. Friday features live music by Rob Quist, artist demonstrations, a wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres.
Saturday’s gala is based on the theme, “Montana’s Treasures: Gold Camps to Ghost Towns.” Artists will create works in 45 minutes for the quick draw, with their creative efforts sold immediately afterward, via live auction. A silent auction, featuring more than 100 items, closes that evening.
